Hiring
Accepting applications for licensed and provisionally-licensed clinicians.
We are a boutique group practice serving professionals and university students in DC, Virginia and Maryland. Our client population is amazing - complex, interesting, high achieving/high potential individuals from diverse backgrounds. They are motivated to do the work of therapy, and generally committed to long-term treatment relationships.
We treat a range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, depression, family of origin, friend and romantic relationships (including non-monogamy), identity, sexuality and gender identity, academic and career concerns, body image and disordered eating, the perinatal period, infertility, chronic illness and life transitions. Our work is engaging, challenging and deeply rewarding as we guide clients from symptom relief, to a clearer understanding of their concerns, and on to lasting change.
Clinicians practice from their own theoretical orientation, and caseloads generally range from 12-24 clients. Clinicians have full autonomy over their telehealth schedules, and flexibility in selecting in-office blocks. The Farragut location allows for competitive compensation and a steady stream of inquiries for both daytime and evening hours.
In hiring, I am looking for clinicians who love engaging in psychotherapy, and are intrinsically motivated to both provide excellent clinical care and to continue growing and learning as therapists. Our therapists are also expected to have professional acumen commensurate with our clients in consulting, law and similar fields. Applicants must be professional and responsive in communication via email, organized in scheduling, and timely in clinical documentation and other administrative matters.
I want this to be work that you will love - an opportunity to engage in rewarding clinical work without worries about billing, marketing, leases or changing regulations. If this sounds like a fit, I would be glad to hear from you. I hire on a rolling basis, and welcome your email and cover letter to hello@drdawnjohnson.com at any time. Please include your current licensure status, any requirements for supervision, and whether you are interested in full or part-time. We have a particular need for PSYPACT eligible clinicians and in-person availability.
Postdocs - I am open to taking one more supervised clinician in 2024/25, and to hiring one Postdoc for the 2025-26 cycle, position starting September 2025. Our postdoc is designed on a mentorship model, and focused on helping you put the final polish on your clinical work while also building the professional and business skills to make this a viable career. Individual clinical supervision is provided by Dr. Johnson, with group sup led by one of our other experienced psychologists for a diversity of orientations and perspectives. Postdocs must be based in DC or Virginia as of their start date due to supervisor licensure, and be open to providing in-person sessions.
Thank you for the time you have taken to learn about our group, and I look forward to the possibility of working together!
-Dawn Johnson
